Asking Questions To Start Conversation?!

Become Comfortable Starting A Conversation With Anyone Part 1/3 :

To become a person that feels comfortable asking questions to start conversation, you are going to need practice. Good conversation starters using questions require quite a bit of practice actually, but the benefits are amazing!

You will eventually become comfortable talking to anyone and everyone in whatever situation. This is because of the experience you will acquire by talking to a lot of people. The more people you talk to, the easier it will get for you.

You start to be able to anticipate what kind of responses you will get. And once you get to that point…

… the real fun begins!

You can start to play with the answers you expect when you are asking questions to start conversation. This results in you being insightful, smart and funny.

You will get more humorous and you will start becoming a socially savvy person.

In this 3 part article I am going to give you some simple questions to start conversation and I will also provide you with some practical advice on how to be more comfortable socially. Aside from that I share my personal experience with becoming comfortable starting a conversation with anyone.

Now I of course don’t know how socially confident you are at this moment. And if you are scoring higher than 65 points on the “Social Anxiety Test”, my advice to you right now is to first do a lot of inner work on yourself before you start this quest.

Or maybe you can see a therapist, get coaching or any other form of help to get you to be more comfortable in social situations.

If you want to completely overcome your social anxiety disorder, getting coached by me personally (from the comfort of your own home and the ease of sitting behind your PC) have a look at the specifics of my 1 on 1 Skype coaching package Social Anxiety Coaching

Once you are below 65 points, still do the inner work, but try to combine it with the simple approach in this article.

Can You Deal With This?

To become really comfortable asking questions to start conversation with someone is simply a matter of repetition.

And I’ll be honest with you, in the beginning it pretty much sucks.

You might get some strange looks and unfavorable reactions. You might become embarrassed a couple of times, and you might even get laughed at (though this probably won’t happen).

That’s the downside of it. But even though that’s the case, let’s rationalize that a little.

You get unfavorable reactions and you might get embarrassed…

Well, so what?

You’re definitely not going to die. And most of the people you won’t see again anyway.

Accept that it will be challenging in the beginning and know that once you start asking questions to start conversation it’s only going to get easier and better.

And seriously, what’s the worst thing that can happen when you are starting a conversation?

Really stop to think about this….

And now ask yourself:”Can I deal with the worst case scenario?”

If you can’t, that’s OK. It just means you have more work to do on yourself first.

Which is fine, you are wherever you’re at in your development to social confidence. If you can accept it, read on…
