Someone’s Watching Me, Help!

Someone’s watching me, I can feel it!

If you experience that feeling, I always suggest you work on your deeper inner psychology to fix issues like this. This feeling you experience is most likely social anxiety.

And this is a complicated challenge to overcome. Therefore it is best to work on the causes and roots of the issue. You can do so with the help of this site.

As an addition to that, I suggest to you the following:

  • Realize that most likely nothing bad is going to happen. And that you are not in danger. Even though it feels threatening. Consider that it is only a feelingyou have as a response to you thinking “someone’s watching me”.I used to walk in front of someone, and would have no proof of that person staring at me, but it still felt like they were staring at me the whole time. It’s only a feeling, it’s NOT real!
  • So what if people are looking at you? What’s so bad about it in the first place? Stop resisting it, stop fighting it! Accept it. Once you accept it, it has less power over you.

“What you resist persists”

-Carl Jung

When you always feel “someone’s watching me”, you tend to care a lot about what they think of you. You fear their judgement. At least that’s how it was for me.
If that is the case…

Stop caring about what they think of you! I know that’s easier said than done, and I refer you to the deeper inner psychology work on this site to completely fix that, but for now consider that…

    • What they think of you is none of your business.

You cannot control what they think of you. And what is outside of your control you should not try to control. Accept it. Say to yourself “OK, someone’s watching me. And judging me. And that’s OK!

  • What you think of yourself is more important than what anyone else thinks of you. YOUR opinion of YOURSELF counts more! So make sure you have a very good opinion of yourself.
  • Are you a famous person? Are you a movie star or a rock star? Are you that important that everyone is always watching you? Or are you just imagining that they do? Are you maybe not all that important to people you don‘t know?
  • Is what you are doing more important to other people than what they themselves are doing? Or are other people maybe more concerned about themselves than about you?
  • Think like this: “If someone’s watching me, he/she must find me interesting. If someone’s watching me I choose to believe that it’s because they think I’m interesting in some way. If they judge me, I expect their judgement to be positive.”For now I suggest you take the above advice and tips into consideration and use some of the links below to do some deeper inner psychology work to relieve some of your social anxiety.
